2013 May month featured a Vocal concert of Vidwan S Mahadevan hailing from Thiruvananthapuram. Mahadevan began the concert with Panthuvarali Ata tala varnam. Certain rare krithis like Vezha Mugattarase (composition of Ambujam Krishna), Paramukhamadeno (composition of Koteeswara Iyer) in the Vivadi raga Shulini. A fast paced Narasimha Mamava, a Swathi Thirunal composition in the raga Arabhi was also rendered.

Thyagaraja’s Rama Bana in the raga Saveri,  was the main composition. Bhajans comprised of Sree Madhava in the raga Behag, Karunanidhan in the raga Charukesi.

The concert came to an end with Tanjore S Kalyanaraman‘s thillana in the raga Dwijavanthi followed by mangalam.

Accompanying artisits who shared the stage were Sri Kasargod Ganaraj (violin), Sri Thrissur Jayakrishnan (mridangam), Sri Vellattanjoor Sreejith (ghatam), and Sri Payyannur Govindaprasad (moresing)
