A Workshop followed by Music Concert of S Mahadevan (Thiruvananthapuram) was conducted by Varaveena School of Music, Irinjalakuda on April 1st 2017. He was accompanied by Gokul Alankode on the violin and Nellai Vighnesh on the mridangam and by Bijay Sankar on the ghatam.

Mahadevan began with MD Ramanathan krithi Vighnaraja Ninnu in Sriranjani followed Bhavanutha in Mohanam, Swathi Thirunal‘s Pahi tharakshupuralaya in Jaganmohini praising lord Shiva of Vaikam. Deekshithar‘s Sanka Chakra in Poornachandrika, Thyagaraja‘s Maragatha Manivarna in Varali and Rara Mayinti in Asaveri was rendered subsequently.

Na Jeevadhara a beautiful Thyagaraja composition in raga Bilahari was rendered as the main krithi.

A wide variety of sangatis were experimented for the ragamalika composition Baro Krishnayya.

The concert concluded with MD Ramanathan‘s thillana in Sindhubhairavi followed by Mangalam.
